The Impact You Will Have
As Head of AI & Advanced Analytics, you will be an executive in the Commercial Global Data Office, leading a team to enhance Allianz Commercial's data and AI capabilities. You will develop the AI Center of Excellence (CoE) into a strategic execution hub over three years. Your role involves shaping the data & AI culture, advancing analytics from descriptive to prescriptive and generative, and aligning the analytics strategy with Allianz Commercial's goals.
Responsibilities include establishing governance frameworks, building shared platforms, and positioning the CoE as a strategic partner. Collaboration with business stakeholders is essential, as is leading and mentoring a high-performing team.
Some of your specific responsibilities could include:
Develop and execute Allianz Commercial's analytics strategy, aligning with company goals and establishing the AI Center of Excellence as a strategic partner over a three-year roadmap.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify analytics opportunities, oversee project lifecycles, and ensure seamless AI integration into core systems with measurable impact.
Lead and mentor a high-performing team of analysts and data scientists, guiding their professional development and consolidating AI talent into the CoE.
Implement a governance framework for AI systems, harmonize toolstack and methodologies, and establish the Cross-Functional AI Council to ensure compliance and strategic alignment.
Collaborate with analytics leads to realize synergies, maintain the AI Initiative Registry for transparency, and communicate complex findings to non-technical stakeholders.
Act as a Subject Matter Expert for new technologies, support AI research agenda, and represent Allianz Commercial at conferences to establish thought leadership in AI for insurance.
Manage the analytics technology ecosystem, providing shared platforms and coordinating vendor management for AI tools to enhance efficiency and value.
Foster AI culture and community, sponsor the AI Community of Practice, and partner with leaders to drive data-driven decision-making across Allianz Commercial.
What You’ll Bring to the Role:
Expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning, and data analysis tools, including Generative AI and Agentic Frameworks, with knowledge of major cloud providers like Microsoft and AWS.
Familiarity with insurance industry concepts such as underwriting, claims, actuarial, and risk management, with minimum 5-7 years of experience in building or managing technology solutions for insurance operations.
Experience with cloud platforms, API-driven architectures, and modern data infrastructure, including MLOps, with minimum 3-5 years in managing scalable cloud-native platforms and API ecosystems.
Proven ability to manage data-driven product initiatives and analytics projects, understanding how analytics creates business value and drives decision-making.
Strong business acumen to translate business challenges into analytical problems, providing data-driven solutions and recommendations.
Excellent leadership and team management skills, with experience in mentoring high-performing analytics teams and leading cross-functional, globally distributed teams.
Strong communication and presentation skills to effectively convey complex analytical findings to non-technical stakeholders and executive stakeholders, translating technical concepts into business value.
Expertise in integrating AI into various business functions, enhancing efficiency, and fostering a culture of data-driven innovation is crucial.

What You’ll Bring to the Role
You are available for a one-year contract in Munich, to start as soon as possible until year end 2026. You bring experience in Corporate & Specialty Insurance, ideally with a hands-on understanding of Multinational Insurance Programs. You also bring a consulting background and are able to break down complex projects and drive a structured approach to continuous improvement for International Insurance Programs (IIP) at Allianz Commercial.

Experience in change management, quality management, integration and re-organization

Your Team
At Allianz Commercial our Actuarial department has an in-depth understanding of the business. We work in close collaboration with other departments to protect Allianz Commercial’s financial strength and drive profitability.
The Impact You Will Have
Reporting to the Team Lead Actuarial Risk Modeling, you will be working as an Actuarial Expert in the Chief Finance Office (CFO) Actuarial Risk Modeling (ARM) department. Your primary responsibility in this role is the development, maintenance and documentation of actuarial risk models in collaboration with colleagues within the ARM team and the wider Actuarial department, including strong interaction with other functions across the whole company. You ensure that work results are reviewed and guide the junior analysts in day-to-day work. You prepare presentations and discuss results of your work with local and global management as well as with Group functions or auditors. You work independently and self-contained and you are able to acquire autonomously the necessary information and methodology to fulfill your tasks.
Some of your specific responsibilities could include:
Promote close collaboration and interaction with the various business areas (Group, Underwriting, Market Management, other Finance departments, etc.) to foster mutual understanding how business developments impact actuarial drivers in the financials
Create and run risk models including documentation, explanation and communication of results
Be involved in various risk modeling, SII and IFRS17 related projects (e.g. model validation, TP model governance, IFRS17 implementation, Business steering, Capital Optimization, etc.)
Develop global actuarial approaches and processes as well as enhance actuarial models and analyses
Peer review work from other team members and mentor, provide guidance to junior team members
Manage and drive forward own area of responsibility or projects
What You’ll Bring to the Role
Excellent tertiary qualification (ideally Master), preferably in Mathematics, Statistics or other appropriate discipline or qualified by experience in related discipline
Steps taken towards actuarial qualification (e.g. Actuarial exams passed)
Strong professional experience in actuarial roles (Reserving, Risk, Pricing, etc.)
Finance and Insurance know-how (ideally P&C) with regards to market dynamics, standard concepts and approaches: regulation, risk modeling, reinsurance and underwriting knowledge, reserving techniques, etc.
Proven experience in developing and implementing stochastic models, analyses and processes
Extensive computer skills (MS Office incl. VBA and relevant expert systems such as ResQ, Igloo, R, SQL or Python, etc.)
A solid understanding of data analysis, automation, and AI tools is required, with an awareness of ethical AI usage.

We are looking for a Senior Underwriter - Engineering, Natural Resources, based in Munich.
Your Team
Our seasoned team takes ownership of top key accounts and clients, skillfully navigating through complex negotiations to ensure optimal participation, pricing, and terms and conditions. You will work in a team of highly experienced and motivated Underwriters with a great team spirit. The team is always open to support and learn from each other.
The Impact You Will Have
Reporting to the Chief Underwriter Natural Resources GER/SUI, you will join the team as a Senior Underwriter, who will aim to make profitable new and renewal business to meet Line of Business (LoB) targets regionally including global elements. We are looking for someone who is passionate about driving and developing a customer centric culture at Allianz Commercial and loves to work in a global matrix organization. In return you will join and develop your career within a supportive, market leading team with huge growth ambitioons.
Some of your specific responsibilities could include:
Underwrite large new and renewal accounts to meet top and bottom-line targets (regionally including global elements).
Grow the Renewables portfolio (on- and offshore) and other technologies of the Energy Transition including e.g. modern efficient hydrogen ready combined cycle power plants and increase our presence in these changing markets.
Negotiate participation, pricing and terms and conditions with brokers. Proactively manage capacity.
Underwrite in line with LoB governance framework - e.g. Underwriting Authorities, global MSU, Underwriting Guidelines, Rules and Principles.
Ensure contract certainty is achieved on all accounts at time of inception.
Contribute to development and execution of regional Underwriting strategy for LoB regionally.
Training, developing and coaching of less experienced staff (including Underwriters).
Positively represent Allianz Commercial externally to the market with key brokers / distribution channels.
Proactively drive involvement of functional areas in Underwriting process, including e.g. Distribution, ARC, Claims, Operations.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key brokers and clients and other relevant stakeholders (e.g. risk managers)
What You’ll Bring to the Role
Preferably a degree in Economics, Engineering, or other appropriate discipline.
Ideally, completion of professional insurance qualifcation (e.g. CII).
Significant experience in Underwriting profitable business in the Natural Resources or Engineering market. Specialized expert understanding of sub-LoB products and portfolio.
Recognized relationships with brokers at peer group level and well established within market.
Specialized understanding of regional / local LoB insurance markets and competitor landscape, including global element.
Good understanding of legal and regulatory framework.
Ability to assess risk inherent exposures and natural hazards relevant to LoB.
Design, develop and implement consistent, robust wordings.
Ability to analyze highly complex data, from multiple sources, in detail; identify and resolve issues before they transpire.
Ability to persuade and motivate others to act, without executive authority.
Fluent German and English language skills.
Experience in applying artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to improve business processes and decision-making is highly beneficial.
