As a Senior Technology Strategist within the global Technology Architecture & Innovation team, you are responsible for shaping and driving our global technology strategy and strategic architecture of core business platforms, contributing to our vision as a technology-driven insurer. Influencing the overarching way we at Allianz do global business, you will be closely working with technology experts, IT architects, business sponsors and product owners.
How can you make an impact?
You will:
Define and steer the technology strategy for cloud (public, private, sovereign), data centers and infrastructure foundations for Allianz Group; own the definition of principles, standards, and guardrails that govern the implementation of that strategyShape Allianz's sovereign cloud approach, ensuring regulatory compliance, data residency requirements, and strategic independence are embedded in the cloud architecture frameworkAct as principal strategic Technology and Architecture authority for cloud and IT infrastructure; work with solution architecture and delivery teams through strategic alignment, standards, and governanceCreate heatmaps, roadmaps, and KPIs to prioritize and structure Allianz' global technology transformation, including cloud and operational maturity dimensionsConduct research and analysis, and coordinate case studies and pilots around prospective technologies (including AIOps tooling, cloud-native ITOM platforms) in order to trial new capabilities as defined in the technology roadmapPartner with business and technology subject-matter experts to translate business requirements into technological vision, and ensure Allianz builds the capabilities to enable the businessPrepare and deliver architecture and technology briefings, including presentations, talks and white papers for senior leadership and the BoardWork across the company to drive adoption of technical standards, design principles, and architecture methodologiesTravel for meetings, technical reviews, and other onsite activities
What are you made of?
Minimum Qualifications
At least 5-10 years of relevant working experience in cloud strategy, cloud platform architecture, strategic IT architecture, IT strategy, or enterprise technology governanceMs or PhD degree in Computer Science or related technical fieldDemonstrated experience in a technology strategy or IT strategy role within a large enterprise environment or consulting engagement, with direct influence on senior leadership and governance bodiesDeep expertise in cloud and on-premises IT infrastructure technologies, including architecture patterns, current and future market developments, best practices, and reference architectures across public cloud, private cloud and hybrid environmentsStrong knowledge of sovereign cloud concepts, regulatory frameworks (e.g. DORA, US Cloud Act), data residency requirements, and their implications for enterprise cloud strategyFamiliarity with IT Operations Management frameworks and platforms, including experience with AIOps technologies and their application to improve operational intelligence and automation at scaleDemonstrated technology transformation experience, preferably in large-scale cloud transformation programs with cross-functional governance responsibilityExcellent proficiency in overarching platform or enterprise architecture, preferably through Enterprise Architecture experience in a large-scale, federated environmentHighly developed written and verbal communication skills targeted at a diverse and senior audience, with an emphasis on the ability to influence effectively without direct authorityAbility to quickly learn, understand, and synthesize technologies, methodologies, and solutions, and communicate to both technical and non-technical (including C-suite) audiencesWork experience in a highly diverse, international environment
Preferred Qualifications
Professional cloud certifications (e.g. AWS Solutions Architect Professional, Azure Expert Architect, GCP Professional Cloud Architect)Hands-on familiarity or strategic oversight experience with ITOM platforms (e.g. ServiceNow ITOM, Dynatrace, Splunk, or similar)Experience with AIOps platforms and use cases (anomaly detection, event correlation, predictive operations)Familiarity with sovereign cloud offerings from major hyperscalers (e.g. Azure Sovereign, Google Sovereign Cloud) or European alternatives (e.g. StackIT, OVHcloud)Experience working in a regulated financial services or insurance environmentBackground in enterprise-wide technology governance, IT risk, or architecture review board participation Previous experience in insurance or asset management business functions, consulting, digital / tech is a plusExperience applying ChatGPT, Generative AI, and Ethical AI solution
