    Based in Berlin, Germany and reporting to the Manager of Customer Success for APMEA and EURI, the Customer Success Engineer (CSE) will help deliver both internal and external education and training programs. The CSE will collaborate externally with local training institutions, third level educational institutions such as universities and community colleges, local and upper secondary education institutions and providers of vocational training with the goal of creating long term local talent pools. Internally the CSE will collaborate with global colleagues on the Data Center Learning team as well as cluster leadership, Public Policy, Public Relations and Community Engagement specialists, to help create the educational and training mechanisms required to deliver the required talent, training and skills at the right time, in the right location at the right level is to support the operational growth of the cluster.

    As a CSE you are the day-to-day voice of Data Center Learning to your internal and external customers, and also the voice of the customers and will represent their needs back into Data Center Learning. You will track key metrics for your clusters, ensure data accuracy, assist in the reporting of these metrics as required, and within Data Center Learning you are the owner of training metrics for your clusters.



    Key job responsibilities
    - Strategic Planning & Development. In conjunction with local AWS partners, you will develop and execute comprehensive education, pre-skilling and talent pipeline and training readiness strategies aligned with AWS business objectives. Forecast future skill requirements and design programs to meet emerging needs. Build scalable frameworks for program expansion across regions, to align training and development initiatives with AWS's growth trajectory.

    - Program Design & Implementation. Design innovative training programs that bridge identified skill gaps. Work with internal partners to create measurable learning pathways for data center operations careers. Implement blended learning solutions incorporating classroom,virtual, and hands-on training. Develop frameworks that support progressive career pathways for your cluster.

    - Stakeholder Management & Alliance Building. Build and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders across educational institutions, government agencies, and industry partners. Support expansion into new locations by engaging with cluster leadership early and helping them build their training program as the cluster prepares to launch and expand. Facilitate collaboration between multiple stakeholders to achieve program objectives. Manage complex partner relationships and expectations. Create governance structures for multi-stakeholder initiatives. Develop and maintain executive-level relationships with partner organizations.

    - Performance Measurement & Analytics: Establish KPI frameworks for DC Learning education and training programs. Implement data collection and analysis processes. Track program effectiveness and return on investment. Conduct regular program assessments and adjustments. Create reporting frameworks for various stakeholder groups.
    - Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Research and implement best practices in workforce development. Leverage data analytics to drive program improvements. Identify and test new approaches to talent development. Scale successful initiatives across regions

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

    - Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
    - Bilingual in English and German (written and spoken)
    - Experience managing training, qualification, or certification programs and proven track record in program development and measurement
    - A technical background with some Data Center experience
    - Experience developing and delivering presentations to large and diverse audiences

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

    AWS is looking for a detail-oriented individual to join our Data Center Engineering Operations (DCEO) Team. This committed group works to maintain the critical physical infrastructure that supports Amazon Web Services. Specifically, this team works to ensure that the data center's MEP operates at 100% availability while maintaining first-class customer service to the teams and groups within the data centers.

    As the Data Center Engineering Operation (DCEO) Chief Engineer (CE), you will be responsible for ensuring that all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center is operating at peak efficiency. This involves both planned preventative maintenance of equipment, daily corrective work, and emergency response to emergent issues. You will serves as an expert technical resource reporting to a site’s Data Center Facility Manager and interacting with onsite Engineering Operations Technicians (EOT) and any third party vendors. Being the singular focal point for all facility operations within a given data center, you will support Amazon within its owned and operated data centers. Data center equipment that supports mission-critical servers must maintain better than 99.999% uptime.

    As the DCEO Chief Engineer you will manage small-to-medium impacting projects from conception to completion. These projects involve large amounts of independent work as well as collaboration with external support groups including engineering, automation, processing, and finance in both local and global settings. Creating and delivering on key milestones, obtaining and tracking quotes for all necessary costs, and documenting project results for future implementation at other facilities. The goals of such projects are for the CE to drive innovation and resiliency while reducing operational costs in the facilities.

    One of the best parts to this role is that you will direct, train and support Engineering Operation Technicians in their role of providing hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting and operations. Implementation and execution of site/equipment-specific training exercises is also expected. This equipment includes, but is not limited to, stand-by diesel generators, switchgear, UPS’s, PDU’s, AHU’s, chillers, cooling towers, chemical treatment systems, pumps, motors, VFD’s, and building automation systems.

    • Operate independently with limited direct management
    • Act as an escalation point for all facilities-related issues within the data center, escalating to the Data Center Facility Manager as needed

    • Create and deploy new standard practices for Engineering Operations Technicians, Chief Engineers, and vendor support teams

    The Data Center Engineering Operations Technician (EOT) is responsible for operating and maintaining all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center. The EOT serves as a technical resource to support Amazon within its owned and operated data centers. This is data center equipment that supports mission-critical servers must maintain better than 99.999% uptime. EOT’s are also tasked with driving innovation while reducing operational costs in the facilities.

    Responsibilities:
    - You will assist in the operation, and maintenance of all electrical,mechanical, and HVAC equipment within the Data Center/Facility.
    - You will assist in maintenance and monitoring of all Data Center systems to include incidents/events, problems, changes, monitoring, problem escalation/notification/resolution and all other aspects of Data Center support.
    - You will monitor and troubleshoot of all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems,voice/data, chiller systems and generators.
    - You will provide assistance to contractor or data center engineer to ensure proper operation and maintenance of all facility equipment covered under level I plus areas in which they are certified such as making and running fiber optic, electrical certification, HVAC repair (training/certification), UPS and or generator certifications and training.
    - You will provide assistance to contractor or data center engineer to deploy new equipment, such as, building racks, cabling, and other tasks as necessary.
    - You will responds to internal Rack customer maintenance, repair and additions/expansion requests through the ticketing system,
    - You will perform site walkthroughs to verify proper operation of Facility Equipment and Monitoring Systems.
    - You will maintain changes in state in Mission Critical infrastructure in support of corrective/ preventive maintenance.

    - You have received a technical (Military/ Trade School) training and/or have similar experience in that field.
    - You will have such electrical qualification(s) as are necessary to operate Low Voltage equipment in accordance with applicable German regulations (Elektrofachkraft)
    - You have several years of relevant work experience, ideally within Data Center operations.
    - This role requires you to be a national of an EU member state

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    - You have several years of working within a data center.
    - You have an associates or Bachelor’s degree in applicable engineering field or mechanical or electrical trades.
    - Certified electrician as per German regulations
