  • The Max Planck Computing and Data Facility (MPCDF) is a competence center of the Max Planck Society. It is engaged in the development and optimization of algorithms and applications for high-performance computing as well as in the design and implementation of solutions for data-intensive projects in close collaboration with scientists of the Max Planck Institutes. The chosen candidate will take a leading role in supporting MPG projects as they migrate to the OpenStack cloud as well as designing tailor-made solutions for various Max Planck Institutes using this cloud. The applicant should ideally hold a degree and have a history of involvement in research, particularly with strong and clear experience in IT. The MPCDF is looking for a IT System Engineer (m/f/div) for Directory Services Reference: 02/2024 The computer and data infrastructure at the MPCDF - consisting of HPC systems, clusters, cloud, and data-services - is based on a complex identity and authorization management system for the several thousands of users at the MPCDF. We are looking for a qualified candidate experienced in the management and configuration of different directory services to join our AAI team. We want to integrate the small Windows AD into our main Unix-based LDAP / Kerberos environment and unify the different software flavors. The chosen candidate will grow into a leading role in the further development, implementation, and operation of the Identity and Authorization Management (IAM) systems for the MPCDF and their integration with other Max Planck Institutes. The applicant should have a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, physics, applied mathematics, or a similar subject, but with a strong and clear experience in IT.
